Join Carolann P Fishing Charters for a deeply personal and meaningful journey to scatter ashes at sea. We understand the importance of this moment and provide a respectful, private experience for you and your family to remember and celebrate the life of your loved one. Our seasoned crew will guide you at least three miles offshore, where you can conduct a heartfelt ceremony in the open waters, surrounded by the beauty and serenity of the ocean.
This isn't your typical charter trip - it's a chance to say goodbye in a truly special way. We'll head out at least three miles from shore, giving you plenty of time to reflect and prepare. Once we reach the perfect spot, you'll have the privacy and space to conduct your ceremony however you see fit. Whether you want to share stories, play music, or simply take in the moment in silence, we're here to support you. And don't worry - we welcome both human and pet ash scatterings, because we know our furry friends are family too.
Our boat comfortably fits up to six guests, so you can bring along close family or friends to share in this intimate moment. We'll provide a stable, clean vessel with plenty of room for you to move around and find the right spot for your ceremony. While we don't provide meals on board, you're welcome to bring along any snacks or non-alcoholic drinks you'd like. The trip usually lasts a few hours, giving you ample time for the journey out, the ceremony itself, and a peaceful return to shore.
When it comes to the actual scattering, we'll help guide you through the process if needed. Many families choose to release flowers along with the ashes, creating a beautiful tribute on the water's surface. We can pause the boat or circle gently, allowing you to take your time and ensure every family member who wants to participate has the chance. Our crew is experienced in handling these delicate moments and will be there to assist or step back as you prefer.
There's something incredibly powerful about returning a loved one to the vastness of the ocean. For many, it represents freedom, peace, and the endless cycle of nature. The sea has a way of putting things in perspective, offering a sense of closure while also celebrating the expansiveness of life. Families often tell us how healing it is to watch the ashes merge with the waves, knowing their loved one is now part of something so much bigger.
We know every family and every life we're honoring is unique. That's why we're always open to special requests for your ash scattering trip. Want to play a particular song? Bring along a special memento to display during the ceremony? Or maybe you'd like us to chart a course to a specific area that held meaning for your loved one. Just let us know, and we'll do our best to accommodate and make this experience as personal and meaningful as possible.
We've got all the legal bits covered, so you don't have to worry. The three-mile offshore requirement isn't just our rule - it's an EPA regulation to protect coastal waters. We'll make sure we're in full compliance, allowing you to focus on the ceremony itself. And heads up - we do ask for cash payment before we leave the dock. It's just easier for everyone that way, and means one less thing for you to think about during this emotional time.
Mother Nature can be unpredictable, especially out on the water. We always keep a close eye on conditions to ensure everyone's safety and comfort. If the forecast looks rough, we might need to reschedule. Don't worry - we'll be in touch well in advance if that's the case. And sometimes, a day with a few clouds or gentle waves can add to the atmosphere, creating a truly memorable backdrop for your ceremony.
Once the ashes have been scattered and any flowers released, we'll give you as much time as you need (within reason) to reflect or share memories with your family. The journey back to shore is often a time of quiet contemplation or gentle conversation. Many families find it comforting to watch the spot where they said goodbye fade into the distance, knowing their loved one is now part of the vast, beautiful ocean.
While we don't provide photography services out of respect for the private nature of these ceremonies, you're more than welcome to bring a camera or phone to capture moments from the trip. Some families like to record the coordinates of the scattering location, which we're happy to provide. Others find comfort in collecting a small vial of seawater from the spot. These little mementos can be incredibly meaningful in the days and years to come.
We may be known for our fishing trips, but we bring that same level of expertise and care to our ash scattering services. Our crew is not only skilled on the water but also compassionate and respectful. We understand the weight of this moment and the trust you're placing in us. With years of experience guiding families through this process, we know how to provide support while giving you the space you need. Our boat is well-maintained, comfortable, and spacious enough for your group to find moments of togetherness or solitude as needed.
Saying goodbye is never easy, but there's something incredibly fitting about returning a loved one to the sea. If you're considering an ash scattering ceremony, we're here to help make it a beautiful, meaningful experience. Give us a call to discuss dates, any special requests, or just to talk through what to expect. We'll be happy to answer any questions and help you plan a tribute that truly honors your loved one's memory. Let's work together to create a farewell that's as unique and special as the life you're celebrating.
