What a great day on the water, couldn't ask for more action! Summer fishing in Freeport, NY is always a treat, and this late afternoon trip with Brad was no exception. We set out from Jones Inlet Marine under partly cloudy skies, perfect conditions for our 4-hour adventure. The water was inviting as we headed out, ready to target some stripers. It's always a pleasure to guide folks on these waters, especially when the conditions are as good as they were. Carolann P Fishing Charters prides itself on providing top-notch experiences, and today was shaping up to be another great outing.

With our gear rigged and ready, we got down to business. We employed a mix of techniques to give Brad the full Long Island fishing experience. Bottom fishing was our primary approach, but we also did some light tackle casting to cover all our bases. To sweeten the pot, we tried chumming to attract the fish. While we didn't land any trophies on this run, every cast and minute on the water was worth it. The techniques we used are typically very effective in these waters, and it's always a thrill to see how they play out on any given day.

Inshore fishing around Jones Inlet can be incredibly productive, and even when the fish aren't biting, the experience of being out on the water is hard to beat. We wrapped up the trip with smiles all around, having enjoyed a great time despite not landing any keepers. The Shark Fishing has been unbelievable for the past few weeks and is probably only getting better. We are catching Sand tiger sharks, Blue Sharks, Mako Sharks and even the ocasional white shark. As a reminder we do not target Mako and White Sharks due to their protected statuses but we have definitely been seeing good numbers of them caught as a bycatch. The Shark fishing on Long Island will probably only get better through august and into September. We have a few open dates so dont hesitate to book now!
